1. Logitech G9x
2. Logitech G303
3. Logitech G402
A4Tech XL-760H | Passes pixel accuracy test on cloth pad, but sometimes jumps into wrong direction under normal use. Seems to track accurately on hard surface. Nice shape, but rear thumb button is placed perhaps a bit too high making it harder to press. Only one button to loop through configured DPI settings. Thumb buttons in reverse order by default, can be fixed with Oscar mouse editor. |
Cherry Xana | Sensor doesn't track slow movement (built-in acceleration). Sensor also performs heavy path prediction. Nice shape. |
CM Storm Recon | Accurate tracking and mouse wheel. Has quite a bit of path prediction. Accurate wheel. Nice shape. Two DPI switching buttons. Poor sensitivity configurability: only 800, 1600, 3200 and 4000 dpi modes are available, making the feature entirely useless. |
Corsair Vengeance M60 | Good tracking. Aim-button to temporarily lower tracking speed. Perhaps a bit too large for comfortable finger grip. Programmable. DPI indicator. Wheel perfectly accurate. |
Logitech G Pro Gaming | Excellent tracking and nice shape. This one has very low height and I prefer the shape of G303. Programmable. Wheel is easy to use and press but every now and then when it's pressed it also scrolls. Only one button for DPI cycling but located handily below the wheel. No DPI indicator. |
Logitech G300 | Inaccurate tracking. Feels a bit tiny at first but shape is good for finger grip. No on-the-fly DPI changing (at least without software). No thumb buttons, instead features similar on-the-top buttons as G700, only this time on the right mouse button too. |
Logitech G303 Daedalus Apex | Excellent tracking and shape. Programmable. Good and accurate wheel. Only one button for DPI cycling but located handily below the wheel. No DPI indicator. |
Logitech G400 | Good tracking and good shape. No DPI indicators. Mouse wheel not perfectly accurate. Basically same as mx518 with higher DPI sensor. Sensor seems to have a bit more jitter. |
Logitech G400s | Good tracking and good shape. No DPI indicators. Mouse wheel not perfectly accurate. Basically same as G400 with once again a bit better sensor. Seems to have less jitter than G400. Surface feels a bit more slippery. |
Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury | Good tracking and accurate wheel. Programmable. Good and accurate wheel. The location of the DPI adjustment buttons requires some getting used to. |
Logitech G5 2nd edition (two thumb buttons) | Doesn't track well on cloth pads. |
Logitech G5 Special Edition (silver, one thumb button) | Doesn't track well on cloth pads. |
Logitech G500 | Sensor at front, feels like there's acceleration. Three thumb buttons, easy to press wrong one. |
Logitech G502 Proteus Core | Good tracking and accurate wheel. Programmable. Wheel is quite stiff when in notched mode. Finger slips on it a bit. Wheel mode is easy to switch with the button right below the wheel. The location of the DPI adjustment buttons requires some getting used to. DPI Shift button is easy to press by accident. Thumb rest is too large in my opinion. I'd like to feel the mousepad to have better control. |
Logitech G700 (wireless/wired hybrid) | Sensor at front. Back thumb button almost impossible to use. Heavy. |
Logitech G9 | Doesn't track well on cloth pads. Programmable. DPI indicator. Tilt-wheel. Wheel perfectly accurate. |
Logitech G9x | Good tracking and good shape. Programmable. DPI indicator. Tilt-wheel. Wheel perfectly accurate. |
Logitech G900 | Good tracking and shape. The mouse is very long, but that doesn't seem to be a problem. It is very ligh and fast to move. Programmable. DPI indicator. Tilt-wheel. Wheel perfectly accurate. DPI adjustment buttons not as easy to reach as in G9/G9x. Thumb buttons are removable and mouse comes with right side buttons too. You can use them on either side or on both sides at the same time. I haven't tested wireless functionality. Bottom side parts made from shiny black plastic that just loves sucking dust in it. At this price I would have liked to see a mouse that is better than G9x in all aspects. Didn't happen. |
Logitech MX518 2nd edition | Good tracking and good shape. No DPI indicators. Mouse wheel not perfectly accurate. |
Mad Catz Cyborg R.A.T. 7 | Very bad tracking. |
Microsoft Habu | Doesn't track well on cloth pads. |
Microsoft SideWinder Laser Gaming Mouse v1.0 | Huge. Doesn't track well on cloth pads. Weird thumb button positions. |
Microsoft SideWinder X8 (wireless) | Wireless issues. Huge. Doesn't track well on cloth pads. Weird thumb button positions. |
Mionix Saiph 3200 | Thumb rest harms movement precision. Back thumb button hard to use. |
Razer Copperhead | Weird shape. Thumb buttons difficult to use. |
Razer DeathAdder | Doesn't track well on hard surface. Warms up after use. Nice shape. No DPI indicator. |
Razer DeathAdder 3.5G | Good tracking and nice shape. No DPI indicator. |
Razer Diamondback | Weird shape. Thumb buttons difficult to use. |
Razer Diamondback 3G | Weird shape. Thumb buttons difficult to use. |
Razer Imperator | Nice shape with customizable thumb button position. Almost unusable because accelerates. |
Razer Imperator 4G | Still has the acceleration issue. Moving the mouse slowly keeps the pointer in one place. Unacceptable. |
Razer Lachesis | Doesn't track properly on cloth pads. Weird shape. Thumb buttons have reversed functionality by default. No DPI indicator. |
Razer Mamba (wireless/wired hybrid) | Accelerates. Wireless issues. Doesn't track properly. |
Roccat Kone | Good tracking and good shape. Programmable. Accurate tilt-wheel. No DPI indicator but can be programmed to use different light colors or positions with different DPI |
Roccat Kone[+] | Not pixel accurate even on Razer Destructor (tested at 1600 dpi and 2000 dpi, Roccat driver sensitivity setting at 0 and -1). Programmable Accurate tilt-wheel. No DPI indicator but can be programmed to use different light colors or positions with different DPI. |
Roccat Kone[+] Max Refresh | Still not pixel accurate even on Razer Destructor and very jittery tracking. |
Roccat Kova | Good tracking but long lift-off distance on Razer Destructor pad. Nice shape. Mouse wheel shaped to be too sharp for finger. |
Roccat Savu | Good tracking. Small size good for finger grip. Thumb buttons are perhaps a bit too close to the rear, pressing forward button carelessly may trigger the other button too. Otherwise nice shape. Nice and accurate rubberized wheel. I miss DPI switch buttons. |
Speedlink Kudos | Good tracking and nice shape. DPI indicator. Only one button that rotates between different DPI settings. Programmable. Tilt-wheel. Wheel not perfectly accurate. |
SteelSeries Ikari Optical | Strange shape, takes some time to get used to it. Not easy to lift because of the shape. No pixel accurate tracking on Razer Destructor. Heavy path correction (easy to draw perfectly straight line in Paint). Two DPI stages with indicator LED. Wheel appears to be accurate. |
SteelSeries Sensei | Too little room for thumb below the side buttons makes the buttons very easy to press accidentally. Two DPI stages with indicator LED. Tracks movement accurately. Wheel feels nice and seems to be accurate. |
SteelSeries Xai | Thumb buttons very easy to press accidentally. Not pixel accurate with default settings even on their recommended 9HD pad. Can be programmed without driver using LCD screen at the bottom. Allows adjusting jitter correction and path prediction to get pixel accuracy. Wheel feels nice and seems to be accurate. |
Ulti-Mat Chill | Good tracking and good shape. DPI indicator (a LED changes color). Only one button that rotates between different DPI settings. Programmable. Two extra buttons but they are not very easy to reach. Comes with spare feet. Accurate wheel. |
Zowie FK1 | Good tracking and nice shape. DPI indicator and adjustment button at the bottom making it slow to use mid-game. Comes with spare feet. Supposed to be larger version of FK2 but has different surface texture. Wheel scrolls down occasionally by accident when pressing it. |
Zowie FK2 | Good tracking and nice shape. A bit small compared to G9x with claw grip. DPI indicator and adjustment button at the bottom making it slow to use mid-game. Comes with spare feet. Wheel scrolls down occasionally by accident when pressing it. |
